Principal's Message

A Message from the Principal

2025-26

Since its inception, the Saucon Valley School District has built a reputation for academic excellence and boundless opportunities offered beyond the classroom in terms of co- and extracurricular activities. Saucon Valley High School, as we know it today, was erected in the early 70's on a 98-acre parcel between Walnut Street and Polk Valley Road. In 1997, as part of a large campus building project, a science wing and district administrative offices were added.
Our school’s mission is to prepare — in partnership with families and our community — new generations of students to boldly face the future; to promote human understanding; to foster technological advancement; to communicate effectively; to nurture mind, body and moral character; to appreciate community and public service; and to strive intellectually as creative problem-solvers, makers and citizens ready for tomorrow. SVHS is a great place to teach and learn. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to engaging, educating and empowering students so they can become active community learners.
As an educator and leader, my core belief is that every student deserves to feel valued, challenged and supported. I believe all students can learn and grow if given a positive and safe learning environment that welcomes exploration, problem-solving and critical thinking. Having high and clear expectations for our students is essential in developing independent, productive, lifelong learners who embrace the challenges presented to them both now and in the future. Together, I know we will continue to make the high school a place where students not only thrive academically but also develop into thoughtful, confident and engaged citizens.
I want to take a moment to extend my gratitude to the students, families, faculty, staff, board members and community stakeholders for welcoming me with open arms in January and allowing me to be a part of this school community. As your principal for the 2025-26 school year, I will continue setting high expectations for our students regarding academic performance, participation in cocurricular activities, positively representing the school district and being responsible citizens both at school and in the community. I remain committed to ensuring that current and future students have numerous opportunities to explore their interests and find their true passions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Richard Kaskey
Principal, Saucon Valley High School
